We gotta be honest, we’ve been keeping a secret. The show on August 16th at 6:00pm in Cole Park will be a little different, because we’re bringing you more than our typical programming. We’re partnering with Warm Cookies of the Revolution and Future Town Tour to offer an immersive cultural experience with a lowrider/classic car demo, circus performers, spoken word poetry, more food trucks, dance lessons, and more. Warm Cookies of the Revolution is a civic health club based out of Denver that engages regular people in crucial civic issues by creating innovative and fun arts and cultural programs. The band to accompany the fun? 2MX2, a Latinx Spanglish music collective out of Denver. Not only have they mastered the art of impactful bilingual storytelling centered on identity and community power, they also participate in a lot of political activism efforts and youth outreach throughout Colorado, including in the SLV. Check them out here. Specifically check out their song, “El Valle,” an ode to our very own SLV. 2MX2 is led vocally by Lolita (Lolitaworldwide) and founded by cousins O-1 (Owen Trujillo) and Juice E Hugo alongside longtime collaborator DMDTheProducer. The collective extends into a full band featuring:

Through their music, 2MX2 uplifts the stories and experiences of the Latinx and immigrant communities from which they come, reflecting the territory they inhabit and the diaspora roots that shaped them. Their work exists at the intersection of art, social impact, and cultural pride — resonating with audiences on both sides of the U.S./Mexico border. In 2024, their breakout single “Si Se Puede” achieved heavy airplay on Indie 102.3, The Colorado Sound, and across Latin America — most notably in Mexico and Argentina — amplifying its message of unity and people-power. 2MX2 also advanced as semifinalists in the binational showcase México Canta, positioning the band within a new generation of Latin alternative artists bridging cultures through socially-conscious music. With their debut full-length album released on February 6, 2026, 2MX2 continues to expand the possibilities of Spanglish music and U.S. Latin alternative, reclaiming space for bilingual art and binational storytelling in a landscape long dominated by monolingual markets. Oh, and we know what you’re thinking; dancefloor? Yes ma’am and sir, we’re bringing back the dancefloor and local Latin dance instructor Belinda Vargas to teach us how to dance to a song or two during the intermission. Belinda Vargas is a Latin dance instructor specializing in salsa and bachata who began dancing in 2010 and has been teaching since 2013–2014. Trained primarily in On1 salsa (New York–style timing), she focuses on making dance approachable, fun, and accessible for all experience levels. Belinda currently teaches structured beginner, intermediate, and advanced courses within the Alamosa community, emphasizing connection, musicality, and confidence-building through movement. She is passionate about bringing people together through dance and creating joyful, inclusive experiences where participants can learn, connect, and celebrate music and culture.
