Hailing from the UK (but now located in Crestone, CO), Xerephine’s music carries Celtic undertones and she plays in an array of styles from upbeat ambient dance with bass, to meditative soundscapes featuring her unique vocal style, live harp and bodhran. Activism, Catharsis and Liberation weave their way through her lyrical web and lie at the heart of many of her songs. She is also, on occasion, spotted in the woods portraying a storytelling faery with her harp for children and adults alike. Most recently she has been enjoying exploring a collaboration with the beautiful duo, Sage and Area (We Dream Dawn) and a live band. Xerephine has co-hosted musical based workshops and opened for or collaborated with members of Elephant Revival, Ayla Nereo, Rising Appalachia, Michael Travis (String Cheese), Marya Stark, OTT, Phutureprimitive, Liberation Movement, Octopus Nebula, The Luminaries and Lunar Fire amongst many others. She has been gigging around the U.S for over a decade, and has toured Europe, Russia, Iceland, the U.K and Ireland. She teaches workshops at various events including an insightful dive into Archetypes and Faerytales and an Intro to Ableton Live. She also co-facilitates nature-based retreats in her beautiful home in Crestone, Colorado.
Continuing this summer: ALMA is again partnering with RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program) of Alamosa County and the Food Bank Network of San Luis Valley by having a food drive at each Sundays at Six concert this summer, to benefit the Alamosa Food Pantry. All are invited to contribute a non-perishable item or two for this food drive. Look for the receptacles under the ALMA tent at each concert. Some ideas of much-needed items include: canned meat (tuna and chicken), peanut butter & other nut butters, low-sodium canned veggies & beans, healthy snacks (low-sugar granola bars, dried fruit, etc.), gluten free items, healthy canned or boxed meals (chili, etc.), shelf-stable milk and milk alternatives. Help us address food insecurity in Alamosa County!
