The Lucky Larue Band

Fans of the Lucky La Rue Band will be happy to learn that, after a five-year hiatus, the group is reforming to play a special benefit for KRZA Community Radio. The event is co-sponsored by ALMA, the Alamosa Live Music Association.

This popular band’s mix of well-known favorites and San Luis Valley-flavored original tunes will rock the INN OF THE RIO GRANDE, 333 SANTA FE AVE., ALAMOSA on Sept. 9, starting at 8pm. Opening for the Lucky La Rue Band are Pedro and the Pistons, another very popular local rock band.

Originally formed in 1997, the Lucky La Rue Band has an eclectic style which reflects the members’ diverse backgrounds and musical influences. Fred Gonzales is a vocalist, rhythm guitarist and composer. Frank Scott is a vocalist, composer and multi-instrumentalist. Bob Linden is the drummer and, along with Gonzales and Scott, a founding member of the band. Nicholas Gonzales plays lead guitar and is a lead and backing vocalist. Scott Russell is co-lead guitarist, vocalist and another multi-instrumentalist. Mike Noonan plays bass and sings backup vocals. Creed D’Avanzar brings his congas, percussion and didgeridoo to the group.

Caleb Clark on keyboards is the newest member of the Lucky La Rue Band. Along with Nicholas Gonzales, Caleb will be pulling double duty on Sept. 9. Both men are also members of Pedro and the Pistons. That quintet of talented rockers is filled out by: James Duran on guitar and lap steel; Joe Romero on bass; and Al Maes on drums.
