Continuing their mission of bringing swinging jazz and other popular favorites to the valley, the SLV Big Band performs this Sun., Aug. 28 at 6pm in Alamosa’s Cole Park, to close out the 2011 season of the Alamosa Live Music Association’s (ALMA) “Sundays at Six,” series.
A dedicated group of people from all walks of life, the SLV Big Band is a non-profit community band. Retired music teachers, active music teachers, technology professionals, students and others come together in this rural area of south central Colorado to share their love of music.
Tasties hot dogs and the San Luis Valley Brewing Company are scheduled to sell food at the summer “Sundays at Six,” shows all season.
ALMA helps present music at the Valley Farmers’ Market, and Mike Brill plays and sings acoustic country blues and more between 10am and 12pm this Sat., Aug. 27, in the parking lot near Centennial Park, near the northeast corner of State Ave. and Main St., between Main St. and 6th St. and between State Ave. and Hunt Ave. in Alamosa.
ALMA’s gracious members and business sponsors support the free summer “Sundays @ Six,” concerts and other ALMA events.
