Toni - you should try contacting them directly. They are in the same ballpark as a lot of other good local acts.

We're sorry to hear of your disappointment. A few things you need to know before you you complain under your cloak of anonymity about a free performance, however. The musicians that perform for us at the Farmers Market are certainly not in it for the money. As this is a community-minded event, so are the musicians. If the other members of the group have an opportunity to make more money performing elsewhere, we can't blame them. We can be thankful, however, for the guys who showed up. I think they did a really fine job that day, and we were happy to have them. We'll invite them back, too, and would be thankful for your continued support.

I was disappointed to have been led to believe that Tom Dessain and the Rescue Party were to play at the farmer's market on Sept. 11, 2010. There were only two members of the Rescue Party present; this amounts to false advertising when the whole group isn't going to show. If they had indeed committed to perform, then I ask you hold them accountable for not showing by reducing any financial committment promised to them by an equal amount or if they volunteered to play for free, suggest they not overbook in the future, as I believe the others were preparing to play in Crestone that afternoon, and let them know of at least one disappointed supporter.

Oops. We take member requests at all concerts. Unfortunately, we don't have the e-commerce thing going just yet. Thanks for pointing that out, and for posting.

Jeanna - thanks for the comments! We've had Michael here several times in the last few years, and will no doubt bring him back again. Maybe next summer? We also attempt to collaborate with Adams State on a fairly regular basis. Not sure how this one slipped under our radar... Our next show is a college collaboration, on Thursday, Aug. 26th at 6PM, the Taos based Last to Know. Free and open to the public, on the corner of Stadium and 1st Street. Hope to see you there!

I just moved to the Valley, and have very much enjoyed being able to walk into town from my new home to enjoy the live concerts in the park all summer. I find my plans for early Sunday revolve around being able to get to the park at 6 pm for whatever music is planned, chat with new friends and watch the little kids play. What a great introduction to my new small town home town.

We were asked to suggest musicians for next year's schedule. Would there be a way to get the wonderful Michael Hearne?! And I just attended a concert at Adams State College of the Three Fabulous Guitarists. One of them, Roberto Capocchi, teaches there. With them, you are treated to contemporary, classical and Spanish guitar music. 575-737-0276.
